Ingenia Introduces the Jupiter

High power servo drive solution with integrated motion controller.

The Jupiter servo drive, is distributed servo drive solution with integrated motion controller and digital servo amplifier. 

It provides OEMs with the flexibility to utilize any motor technology up to 2,4 kW and without the need of any additional heat-sink on its whole operating temperature range. Its power range can be even extended with an optional base plate.

Jupiter targets applications using direct drive housed or frameless brushless torque motors, which might require high stall torque, high torque at low speed or optimum at high speed.

Jupiter can be interfaced in a flexible number of ways. It can be configured from a USB port, RS-232 or RS-485 and networked on CANopen bus. For more demanding applications accepts EtherCAT connectivity using an additional plugin module, available for different servo drives from Ingenia. Jupiter also shares the same I/O expansion board from Pluto product line, which helps to minimize the number of options boards needed when working with both products.

This drive can operate with a wide choice of feedback devices supporting by default Incremental and absolute Encoder (SSI), SinCos 1Vpp, Digital Halls, Analog Halls, Analog Input (Potentiometer), PWM sensor and DC-Tachometer.

Jupiter comes with extensive protective circuitry and also with embedded safe torque off (STO) functionality. It ensures safe, instant shutdown of servo drive in the event of failure. It is implemented in accordance with the IEC 60204-1.

Tasks such as machine setup, cleaning or typical maintenance work that previously required power-down conditions can now be accomplished without removing power from the entire machine.
